Spanish Mission - Sails of War

The main goal of this scene was to establish the prop and background art pipeline of Sails of War and to build a scene within the full constraint and budget set for the game.

This includes the creation of the Prop Master Material, the Auto Terrain Landscape Material as well as the Unlit Tree Billboard Material.
The goal is to create a very well-performing set up to be used on large open maps and only as background set pieces. Relying heavily on automation.

All trees and foliage are spawned via the Grass Tool or Procedural Foliage Tool.
Whilst the foliage is using its light-weight unlit material, making use of parameter collections for fake lighting, the larger props and buildings are using the tiling prop master (which can also be used for unique textures). Its main feature is additional dirt and overlays as well as an UV2 Occlusion, Variation and Dirt mask. At 75-150 meters the camera shots are closer than the player camera will ever get ingame.
